The story

A correspondence built for safe connection.

The Ink Exchange is being developed as a structured correspondence between youth ages 8–17 and senior mentors. It is designed to be accessible and consistent: participation is zero-cost, letters move through the mail, and the exchange happens every other month.

A confirmed first partnership is with Youth Expressions/TORCH in Mapleton, GA. The exchange includes no in-person or social-media contact. Participants use first names only, and staff review letters as part of the program’s safeguards.

The planned structure spans a full academic year and includes a supervised Meet & Greet and certificate ceremony at the conclusion. Current recruitment is focused on Cobb County only.
